Matcha & Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Nothing beats snuggling up to a warm cup of hot chocolate, especially after a day of skiing, tobogganing or playing in the snow.
SCRATCH THAT, we decided to one-up the traditional Hot Chocolate by adding a ‘little’ kick of our own… Peppermint Matcha. WOA! We know right?!
So here’s a rich, creamy and decadent Matcha & Peppermint Hot Chocolate that will BLOW YOUR MIND (& your taste buds!)

THIS MATCHA HOT CHOCOLATE IS:

Without gluten

Slightly sweet
FOR THE HOT CHOCOLATE
This recipe gives two small cups of hot chocolate (or one BIG cup)
INGREDIENTS

1 ½ cup of plant-based milk

2 tsp. cornstarch (optional)*.

40g of dark chocolate
-
1 tsp. peppermint matcha
-
1 pinch of salt
-
Whipped coconut cream, crumbled candy cane, marshmallows ...
INSTRUCTIONS
For the Matcha & Peppermint Hot Chocolate

In a saucepan, dissolve cornstarch in cold milk. Add chocolate and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

When mixture thickens slightly, remove from heat. Add matcha and salt and mix.

Pour into two small cups and garnish with whipped coconut cream, crumbled candy cane and mini marshmallows for a gourmet version.
*Note:

Cornstarch is optional, but it makes a smooth and decadent hot chocolate. If you decide to omit it, there is no need to bring the mixture to a boil. Simply melt the chocolate in the hot milk, then add the matcha and a pinch of salt.

Want a slightly less rich version of this hot chocolate? Replace the whipped coconut cream with cappuccino-style frothed plant-based milk!

Don't like mint? No problem! You can make the recipe with our Chai Matcha for a spicy hot chocolate. You can even add a pinch of cayenne pepper for an extra kick!
